So: Blogger Karaoke Monday night, as threatened. I managed to survive my trip to Williamsburg unscathed, discovered a good bar, met some nifty people (including the Antigeist, Maxx Klaxon, and some very nice folks without websites), and oh yeah, actually got up and sang. (Actually, "sang" may be an overly charitable and revisionist retelling of the evening.) Jonmc had my back on Beck's "Loser", and we struggled through the incorrect lyrics (it's "soy un perdidor", not "So open the door") and managed to win the happy drunken crowd over to a state of pure, unvarnished...indifference. Pictures forthcoming, I promise. (Addendum: Let me just state, for the record, that Maud rocks tha muthaphukkin' house. And tonight, we went to Tuesday Night Trivia at the Baggot Inn. Chico Bangs and Jonmc joined me, and we also met a fledgling blogger. (Viva el revolucion!) Our team ("Schwarzeneggs & Ham") took first place, good for a $25 bar tab. RAWK! (It's so nice to be rewarded for the otherwise useless information that accumulates in your head like dust bunnies under the couch.) After trivia, the four of us traipsed over to JAS Mart in the East Village, where we initiated the newbie into the ways of Pocky, Crunky, Choco Flake, and Pretz. (Not to mention ramune soda, which practically requires an engineering degree to open properly.) A good night, all in all.
